Why I Get It

At 12, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At 14, Celiac disease. I've sat in those exam rooms feeling dismissed, shamed, and misunderstood by the very professionals meant to help me. Even outside of the healthcare setting, being uncomfortable or lacking the confidence in certain situations to advocate for what I’m actually needing, how to access those needs, and recognizing that sometimes we can’t always provide ourselves what we need in those moments and need to plan for future circumstances. I know what it's like to be exhausted from advocating for yourself while simultaneously trying to figure out how to take care of yourself.

Managing your health shouldn't require you to be perfect, nobody is. It should work with the life you actually have.

I became a dietitian because I believe in prevention over treatment, progress over perfection, and meeting people where they are—not where some textbook says they "should" be. I've worked everywhere from community health centers to corporate hospital systems, and I've seen what works and what doesn't.

What works? Real conversations. Practical solutions. Support without shame.

"We take the wins where we find them because they're not always easy to find."
